Spherion - Deloitte

The principle behind the new German headquarters of Deloitte in Düsseldorf was the creation of an architectural structure that focused on energy-saving and climate-friendly concepts.
The energy saving concept is designed to make optimum use of daylight and thanks to special glass that redirects light ensures that total energy consumption is kept at a low level. The concrete core cooling ensures pleasant and uniform temperatures in winter and energy-saving cooling of the seven-floor building in summer. This avoids the disadvantages of a conventional air-conditioning system.
The building ensemble which is flooded with light comprises four structures that are enclosed by a generous glass-covered garden atrium. It serves as the centre of the complex and symbolises the concept of one workplace under one roof. Each of the four structures symbolises one of the four divisions of the Deloitte group: audit, tax, consulting and corporate finance. The structures are linked by open stairways and bridges and underline the connective and communicative nature of the ensemble. Communication, team spirit and community orientation are reflected here in the open-plan offices and meeting points on every floor.
Spherion provides working space for up to 1500 employees. The spatial concept developed by architect Jürgen Koch allows the flexible and easy design of several office areas of different size, incorporating single, medium-sized or combi-offices. Interchangeable glass dividing walls ensure transparency and the freedom of defining room structures as required.
