Groß St. Martin

The church of the Benedictine monastery Groß St. Martin was built between 1150 and 1240 above Roman buildings (a sports complex from the 1st century and warehouses from the 2nd). It is characterised by the large crossing tower and the triconche, still an important landmark in Cologne’s townscape next to the steeples of the cathedral.
