Flughafenbahnhof Köln/Bonn

The Cologne/Bonn Airport’s train connection to the Deutsche Bahn’s railway network was built between 2001 and 2004. The central structure of the about 15km long airport loop is the four-track station, built below the airport’s Terminal 2. It is 18m underground and has a 156m long, arched all-over glass roof. Its central position makes for an exemplary multimode transport solution. Nowhere else are the ways shorter if you want to change: only about 100m between terminal, station and multi-storey car park.
A 4.5km tunnel provides access to both ICEs and S-Bahn (light urban railway).
