Above an older Clemenskirche, between 12000 and 1260 a three-tower new church with an eastern choir and three naves was built in accordance with a standardised design. St. Kunibert is the youngest Romanesque church in Cologne. The medieval design features a cycle of glass windows from about 1250 and murals and sculptures from the 13th to the 15th century, for example.
Three-nave late-Staufian vaulted basilica with a nave of three double bays and a short easterntransept. Eastern apsis above a small crypt flanked by towers above the ends of the transept. Projecting western transept with central tower.
